Smoked White Warehou Kedgeree

Warm butter in fry pan over medium heat. Add onion and garlic and fry until onion is translucent.

Add the curry powder, turmeric, and rice, and fry for around five minutes.

Add 560 ml water, cover the fry pan with a tight-fitting lid. Cook over low heat for around 20 minutes until the rice is cooked through and there is no remaining liquid.

Stir in the green peas, and cook for another five minutes.

Take fry pan off the heat, and stir in the parsley and the smoked warehou cut into bite-size pieces.

Transfer to plates and decorate to taste with wedges of boiled egg and lime.
